TMG Executive Menu

TMG Executive Menu is a standalone application that lets you execute Simcenter 3D Thermal/Flow, Simcenter 3D Electronic Systems Cooling, and Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal processes independently of this software.

Use the TMG Executive Menu application to do the following:

• Run thermal and flow analyses in batch mode. You can use different input files such as INPF or thermal and flow solver scratch (XML) files.

• Convert thermal and flow input files and run time files to and from different formats. For example, you can convert result binary files to the UNV format.

• Remove unnecessary run time files from the running directories.

• Run a thermal, flow, or coupled thermal-flow analysis in parallel on a cluster, using a scheduler.

Some processes depend on legacy NX I-deas TMG, NX I-deas ESC and Femap TMG (11.4.1 or earlier) commands and do not work with Pre/Post files. For more information, see Translation processes in TMG Executive Menu process descriptions.

TMG Executive Menu is located in the [software installation]\nxcae_extras\tmg\com folder or in your [TMG_patch] folder when you download a TMG patch from the downloads page for Simcenter 3D Add Ons on Support Center. To start it, at a Command Prompt, type the following command: tmgnx.cmd.

Note:

If you run an XML input file of a turbulent flow simulation from a 12.0.2 or earlier version using the current version of the TMG Executive Menu, the current results may be different than those from earlier versions. It is recommended to regenerate the XML input file in Simcenter 3D to recover older results.

Environment variables

You need to set the following environment variables:

• UGII_TMG_DIRThis variable indicates the location of the TMG patch.

• UGII_BASE_DIRThis variable indicates the location of the NX or Simcenter 3D installation.
