Create a test analysis reference solution from a correlation solution process

This example shows how to create a test analysis reference solution from the correlation solution process using the manual method for creating a wireframe.

Note:

You can also create a test analysis reference solution using the automatic method. For more information, see steps 5 to 8 in Create a test analysis reference solution from a pre-test solution process.

You create the elements, prior to creating the test analysis reference solution by using:

• The element creation commands in the FEM part.

• The Create Wireframe Elements command to create wireframe elements from nodes referenced in a DOF set.

• The Wireframe Elements command to create a wireframe elements from selected nodes.

• A combination of all methods.

In this example, you will use the Create Wireframe Elements command.

1. In the Simulation Navigator, under the Solver Sets node, right-click the DOF Set and select Create Wireframe Elements.The created wireframe elements are displayed under the 1D Collectors node. If the wireframe algorithm can not connect the nodes, it skips them and creates a group of missing nodes under the Group node.

2. Create a group that contains the created wireframe elements. For more information, see Create a group by manually selecting the contents.

3. Choose Correlation tab→Correlation group→Test Analysis Reference Solution .

4. (Optional) Give a meaningful name to the test analysis reference solution.

5. In the Analysis Results Source group, from the Solution list, select one of the solutions containing normal modes.The Source is automatically set to Solution, because you opened the command from Correlation group.

6. In the Solution Options group, from the Select DOF Set list, select one of the DOF sets from the correlation solution process. For more information, see Create a DOF set.

7. In the Wireframe group, from the Method list, select Manual.

8. Click Group Reference.The Group Selection dialog box opens. Make sure that selected group contains wireframe elements that connect nodes that are in the DOF set selected in step 6.

9. From the List Groups list, select the group that you created in the step 2.

10. Click OK to close all dialog boxes.
