Split a polygon face
Split a face by selecting points
Click Split Face .
Select Split face by points in the Split Face dialog box.
Select the first point on a polygon edge. The Snap Point options on the Top Border bar help you select the point.End Point lets you select a point at the end of a curve.Mid Point lets you select a point at 50% of the total length of the curve.Quadrant Point lets you select a point at the quarter points of an arc or ellipse.Point on Curve lets you select any point along the curve.
Select the second point on a polygon edge on the same face.
The software creates a new polygon edge between the two selected points. Click MB2 or click OK on the dialog bar to accept the new edge and split the face at that location.
Split a face by selecting suppressed edges
Click Split Face .
Select Split face by suppressed edges in the Split Facedialog box.The software displays any previously suppressed polygon edges in the graphics window.
Select a suppressed edge.
Click MB2 or click OK to restore the edge and divide the face at that location.
Split a face by selecting a facet edge
Click Split Face .
Select Split face by facet edges in the Split Facedialog box.The software hides any existing mesh that is associated to the geometry and displays a temporary mesh of transient elements (facets).
Use the Select Facet Edge option to select the edges of the transient elements. The edges that you select must touch the boundary of the face in two locations.Tip: Use the Transient Elementselection type option in the together with the Connected Element Edges or Most Tangent Path smart selection method to specify options for selecting these element edges.
When you click OK or Apply, the software creates a new polygon edge to split the face and restores the original mesh, if applicable.
