Solution dialog box (LS-DYNA)
| Solution | |
|---|---|
| Name | Specifies the name of the solution. |
| Solver | Specifies the solver for the solution. |
| Analysis Type | Specifies the analysis, for example, structural, thermal, or axisymmetric. |
| 2D Solid Option | Identifies the plane on which you can create axisymmetric elements. Also identifies the axis of rotation for axisymmetric elements. The solution uses the 2D Solid Option value that was set for the associated FEM file. You cannot modify this value. |
| Solution Type | Specifies the solution type. |
| General Impact | |
| Run Job in Foreground | Solves the solution in foreground and freezes this software so that you cannot make changes to your model during the solve.Clear this check box to be able to access this software while solving the solution. |
| Controls and Database tab | |
| *CONTROL | Specifies parameters for the *CONTROL keyword. Use these parameters to specify a variety of options for the analysis, including options that control the response of shell elements during an analysis, as well as options for contact analysis.Select an existing Controls object from the list or click Create Modeling Object to create a new one.Click Edit to edit the selected modeling object. For more information, see Defining solution options and output requests for LS-DYNA. |
| *Output Requests (DATABASE) | Specifies parameters for the *DATABASE keyword. Use these options to control how LS-DYNA creates output files for the solution.Select an existing Database object from the list or click Create Modeling Object to create a new one.Click Edit to edit the selected modeling object. For more information, see Defining solution options and output requests for LS-DYNA. |
| User Defined Text tab | |
| User Defined Text | Lets you insert specific text or an entire text file into your LS-DYNA input file. Select an existing User Defined Text object from the list or click Create Modeling Object to create a new one.Click Edit to edit the selected modeling object. For more information, see Customizing LS-DYNA input files with user defined text. |
| Damping tab | |
| *DAMPING | Lets you define mass-weighted nodal damping for the solution.Select an existing Damping object from the list or click Create Modeling Object to create a new one.Click Edit to edit the selected modeling object. For more information, see Defining global damping for LS-DYNA solutions. |
