Create Automatic Face Pairs dialog box
| Face Pair Search Subset | |
|---|---|
| Faces or Bodies | Selects a subset of faces or bodies to search for face pairs. If you do not specify a subset of faces or bodies, the software searches the entire model for face pairs. |
| Properties | |
| Face Search Option | Specifies the requirements the software uses to determine face pairs. All PairsAll pairs in the Face Pair Search Subset within the Distance Tolerance are considered in the face pair search.Identical Pairs OnlyOnly face pairs in the Face Pair Search Subset that have identical geometry and are within the Distance Tolerance are considered in the face pair search. |
| Grouping Option | Determines how the face pairs are grouped in order to create the resulting simulation objects.OneGroups all face pairs into a single simulation object.Per Body PairsGroups all the face pairs for a pair of bodies into a single simulation object.Per Face PairCreates a separate simulation object for each identified face pair. |
| Distance Tolerance | Specifies the maximum search distance when determining face pairs. |
| Preview | Generates a preview of all face pairs that meet the current criteria. You may need to modify the Distance Tolerance to find more or fewer face pairs. |
| Additional magnitude options for boundary conditions | |
|---|---|
| You can define the magnitude with a constant value, expression, or field. You can:Type a constant value directly in the box.Type an expression directly in the box. As you begin to type the expression, tooltips provide hints about valid parameter names. If you type an invalid or incomplete expression, the warning icon appears next to the box.Click and select: | |
| Expression | Opens the Expressions dialog box, where you can select an existing expression or create a new one.For more information about expressions, see Expressions. |
| For more information about other options in the list, see Additional magnitude options. |
