Define a spatial normal pressure load
This example shows how to define a normal pressure using a spatial type load.
Choose Analysis→Measure Distance, and measure the length of your part. In this example, the length of the part is 300 mm.
Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Pressure .
In the Pressure dialog box, from the Type list, select Normal pressure on 2D elements or 3D element faces.
Select the geometry or FE entity to which the pressure will be applied.
Click and select from New Field→Formula .
In the Formula Field dialog box, from the Independent list, select Length.
In the Expressions box, enter sin((ug_var("x")/300)*180) Notice that the independent variable is X.
Click Accept Edit.
Expand the Spatial Map group. From the Type list, select Cartesian.
Define a new coordinate system. The field will use the X axis of this coordinate system.
Click OK in all dialog boxes.
In the Simulation Navigator, expand the Fields node.
Under Fields, select Pressure to turn on the display of the spatial field.
The field is defined along the X axis of the new Cartesian coordinate system. The pressure magnitude varies with the field.
