Thermal/Flow, Electronic Systems Cooling, and Space Systems Thermal > Workflow for thermal and flow analyses > Modeling a thermal analysis with non-geometric elements
Create a non-geometric element modeling object
Choose Home tab→Properties group→Modeling Objects .
In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, from the Type list, select Non-Geometric Element.
Click Create.
In the Non-Geometric Element dialog box, in the Name box, type a meaningful name that will help you identify the modeling object.
From the Type list, select Temperature or Capacitance.
Enter the magnitude value. For Temperature, specify an expression or a field varying with time. For Capacitance, type a capacitance in the Capacitance box.
(Optional) To model phase change within the capacitance non-geometric element, in the Thermal Phase Change group:Select the Activate Phase Change check box.In the Latent Heat box, enter the latent heat.In the Phase Change Temperature box, enter the temperature at which phase change occurs. In the Capacitance Above Phase Change box, enter the capacitance of the non-geometric element after phase change.
Click OK.
