Mapping CAD components to FEMs

In an assembly FEM, you must map the CAD components to FEMs to include those components in the analysis. You can map the components to FEMs using the following tools:

  • Use the Map Existing command to map one or more assembly components to a single, existing FEM file.

  • Use the Map Existing Individually command to map multiple assembly components to multiple, individually selected, existing FEM files.

  • Use the Automatically Map to Associated Models command to map one or more assembly components to the first FEM file that is associated to each CAD component.

  • Use the Map New command to create a new FEM file, and map one or more assembly components to it.
