Define a Norton material (Simcenter Samcef)

You can create materials only if the Allow Local Materials customer default is selected.

  1. Make the FEM the work part and displayed part.

  2. Choose Home tab→Properties group→Assign Materials or Manage Materials.

  3. In the Material List group, select Local Materials.

  4. In the New Material group, from the Type list, select Isotropic, Orthotropic, or Anisotropic.

  5. Click Create Material .

  6. In the Property View, select Samcef Isotropic Structure, Samcef Orthotropic Structure, or Samcef Anistropic Structure.

  7. In the materials dialog box, in the Name - Description box, type a name for the material.

  8. On the Mechanical page, defines the elastic part of the material: the Young's modulus, the Poisson's ratio, and so on.

  9. On the Creep page, select the Temperature-Dependent Time Hardenning (Norton-Bailey) Power-Law (Type 301) law.

  10. Then:Defines the Threshold Strain (THRESH) value.Select Strain for the Hardening property.Specifies whether to check the Check Unit System of the parameters of the law.Defines the parameters of the equation of the law: Constant Multiplier (a), SIGMA Exponent (b) and Hardening Exponent (d).

  11. Click OK.
