Synchronize assembly connection updates
After you use NVH Composer to generate an assembly FEM file, you can update properties for the universal connections, including lumped mass, in NVH Composer or in Pre/Post. Regardless of where you make the changes, use the Synchronize command in NVH Composer to select which updates you want to retain and the direction in which you want to push them—from NVH Composer to Pre/Post or from Pre/Post to NVH Composer.
Open your assembly FEM file in Pre/Post and then choose Assembly Composer Application .For more information, see Open an assembly FEM file and NVH Composer project files.A message informs you that NVH Composer is connected to the current session. This connection ensures that you can synchronize updates in NVH Composer and Pre/Post.
Update the universal connections in NVH Composer or Pre/Post.For example, you might change the physical dimensions of the shank and head for a bolt connection by right-clicking the bolt connection in the Simulation Navigator and choosing Edit, or you might select the bolt in the NVH Assembly Composer layout window and then update the shank and head values in the Definition tab.
In NVH Composer, choose Synchronize .The Synchronize dialog box opens with a row for every change. For example, if you changed the value for shank diameter and for head diameter for a single bolt connection, each change is listed in its own row.In the Feature Type column, changes are categorized as either connection or mass. The Feature Name column lists the name of the connection as defined in the Definition tab.
In the Synchronize dialog box, do the following:Review the list of changes. The Assembly Composer and Simcenter 3D columns show the equivalent options and their values. Using these two columns, decide which value you want to retain. For example, if you want to retain an update you made in NVH Composer, you can mark that value to be pushed to Simcenter 3D Pre/Post in the next step. Select one row at a time, or select multiple rows by using Ctrl+click or Shift+click, and mark the selected rows with one of the following actions:To update Simcenter 3D Pre/Post with the NVH Composer value, click Push to Simcenter .To update NVH Composer with the Simcenter 3D Pre/Post value, click Pull from Simcenter As you mark the action for each row, you can remove the marker values by selecting the rows whose marker you want to remove and clicking Clear Marker.Select All Deselect All Each cell in the Marker Value column updates to indicate the action you selected. Values that will be pushed to Simcenter 3D Pre/Post are indicated by =>. Values that will be pulled from Simcenter 3D Pre/Post value are indicated by <=.
When all of the cells in the Marker Value column contain the correct action for each row, click OK.Caution: There is no undo command. Make sure the action markers are correct before you click OK.The Synchronize Report opens with a list of changes and differences between NVH Composer and Simcenter 3D Pre/Post.
