Durability > Random events

Create and solve a random durability event

Choose Durability tab→Durability group→Random Event .

  1. (Optional) In the Event Name box, enter a meaningful name. This name is displayed in the Simulation Navigator under the Durability solution process node.

  2. From the Solution List, select the Response Dynamics solution process that contains the random event with PSD excitation.

  3. From the Solution Subcase List, select the random event.

  4. On the Random Fatigue tab, from the durability object list, select a random fatigue durability object that you want to use.The random fatigue durability object specifies the random event duration, the random fatigue method, and the requested fatigue life results.

  5. (Optional) Click Create Random Fatigue Settings to create a new random fatigue durability object or click Edit Random Fatigue Settings to modify the selected object.

  6. On the Solve Options tab, from the durability object list, select a solve option durability object that you want to use.The solve options durability object specifies the default material temperature and the element selection and material overrides.

  7. (Optional) Click Create Solve Options to create a new solve option durability object or click Edit Solve Options to modify the selected object.

  8. Click OK.

In the Simulation Navigator , right-click the Random Event 1 node and choose Solve.
