Response Dynamics > Defining the Simcenter Nastran solution
Import results and event data from I-deas
You can import your I-deas Response Analysis solution results, event definition, and excitations for use in Response Dynamics.
Note:
You can also use these steps to import an EEF file saved from Response Dynamics.
You will need your OP2 results file and the I-deas event evaluation file (EEF) that you created from those results.
Open or create a simulation in Pre/Post.
In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the simulation and choose Import Results. Import the OP2 file from your I-deas response analysis results as described in Import results through the Post Processing Navigator. A new solution node appears in the Simulation Navigator.
Create a Response Dynamics solution process. Choose Response Dynamics tab→Response Dynamics group→New Response Dynamics .In the New Response Dynamics dialog box, in the Solution box, select your imported I-deas results.Select Import Event from File.Browse to your I-deas EEF file. If you are importing a Response Dynamics EEF file, the file is located in the same folder as your part and simulation files.Click OK. The Response Dynamics solution process is recreated using the excitations and modal parameters from the EEF file. A new solution process node, as well as an event node, appear in the Simulation Navigator.
You can now work with this solution process as you would with a newly created one. However, you cannot create new events; you can use only the event you imported from the EEF file.
Importing I-deas AFU files
To use the function records from I-deas Response Analysis, open the I-deas AFU file in the XY Function Navigator as described in Manage AFU Files in the Functions and Graphing Help.
Note:
When you open an AFU from I-deas, the data is in SI units. If you then make changes to the AFU data using this software, the new units are written to the AFU.
