Loading CAE data from saved folders

When the Part Versions load option is set to As Saved, the software loads components from the folders in which they were saved.

There are advantages and disadvantages to loading components from the folders in which they were saved.

Advantages

  • You can organize CAE model and geometry data into multiple subfolders, for example, by file type, analysis type, and so on.

  • You can load associated CAD part files from shared directories or network drives.

Disadvantages

  • Only the user who last saved the CAE model can easily load all components and associated files.

  • You cannot easily share models.

  • If any folders are moved or renamed, you must load component FEMs or associated CAD parts manually. To load the component FEMs or associated CAD parts, choose FileOpen.

Recommendations

Using the As Saved load option is not generally recommended, unless a single analyst owns and controls all CAE components and associated CAD parts, and the models will never be shared.
