Design variables in the model update and model update set solution processes

You can manage design variables in the Model Update solution process.

To add new design variables to the Model Update solution process create and assign them to the Simcenter Nastran SOL 200 Model Update solution and resolve the solution. The Model Update solution process reads the new design variables after refreshing the solution results referenced by the Model Update solution process. You can also use the Rapid Create Design Variables command.

When you select the Design Variables [#] node in the Simulation Navigator, the design variable information is displayed in the Correlation Details View subpanel.

In the Model Update solution process, you can do the following in the Correlation Details View subpanel:

• Modify the scale factor, lower and upper bounds, and weight of design variables in the Correlation Detail View subpanel.

• Fix selected design variables when their scale factor reaches a desired value.

• Reset the current design variable values to the initial values of the active work solution.
