Extract elements from a mesh

Extract elements by graphical selection

1. Choose Nodes and Elements tab→Elements group→Element Extract .The Element Extract dialog box is displayed.

2. In the Graphics window, select the elements to extract.

3. Click OK.

Extract elements by label

1. Choose Nodes and Elements tab→Elements group→Element Extract .The Element Extract dialog box is displayed.

2. Expand the Element Labels group.

3. In the Labels box, enter the element label(s):To specify a range of elements, separate element labels with a hyphen. For example, enter 1–10 to select elements 1 through 10 inclusive.To specify multiple, individual elements, separate labels with a comma. For example, enter 1,10 to select element 1 and element 10 only.

4. Click Select to select the specified elements by label.

5. Click OK.
