Model update set solution process

Use the Model Update Set command to:

• Combine multiple Model Update solution processes, each representing a different configuration of a FEM and/or test article, and containing a separate set of reference and work data. For example, a spacecraft with and without its payload.Bus only****Bus and payload

• Optimize the union of the design variables of the constituent Model Update solution processes to minimize the errors between analysis and test data, or to minimize the errors between simulations.

You can:

• Include the same Model Update solution process in different Model Update Set solution processes.

• Specify the master Model Update solution process, when you create or edit Model Update Set.

• Set mode pairing and shape correlation methods when none of the selected Model Update solution processes are designated as the master. The relationship between shape correlation and mode pairing methods is the same as in the Model Update solution process. For more information, see Mode pairing and shape correlation methods. The X-Ortho shape correlation method is only available when the master Model Update solution process uses the X-Ortho pairing method and all the constituent Model Update solution processes have reduced mass matrices.

Design variables

The Model Update Set solution process contains the union of design variables in all the constituent Model Update solution processes. When you create a Model Update Set, the values and status of common variables are derived from the master model update solution. In the absence of the master solution, design variable values and active status are derived from the first Model Update solution process in the set.
