Element Detach dialog box

Elements
Select Elements	Lets you select elements to detach from the mesh.
Element Labels	Lets you add elements to the selection.Use a space or comma to separate your entries.Use a colon or a dash to add a range of element labels.For example, enter 1:10 or 1-10 to add all the element labels from 1 to 10.Use colons to add an incremented range of element labels.For example, enter:1:9:2 to add element labels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.1:10:2 to add element labels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10.10:1:-2 to add element labels 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1.Press enter or click Select to add your entries.To edit your selection, click Edit Element Selection .
Detachment Option
Detach At All Connected Nodes	Automatically detaches the selected elements at all nodes that are connected to the rest of the model. The software creates duplicate nodes at these locations and associates the selected elements to the new nodes.Clear the Detach At All Connected Nodes check box to select specific nodes from which to detach the elements.
Detachment Nodes
Select Node	Available if the Detach At All Connected Nodes check box is cleared.Lets you select the specific nodes from which to detach the selected elements. The software creates duplicate nodes at the locations you select and then associates the selected elements to the new nodes.
Create New Mesh for Detached Elements	Places the detached elements and nodes in a new mesh in the Simulation Navigator. The new mesh has the same mesh-associated data as the original mesh.
