ISO Power (ISO3744) Mesh Primitive dialog box

Mesh Name
Mesh Name Specifies the name of the ISO power (ISO3744) mesh primitive.
Element Properties
Type Specifies the type of elements to create.
Edit Mesh Associated Data Appears when you select an element type that requires the definition of additional properties.Opens the Mesh Associated Data dialog box where you can define solver-specific properties for the elements. The software applies these properties uniformly to all the elements in the mesh. For more information, see Mesh-associated data.
Primitive Parameters
Group Reference Lets you specify the appropriate mesh group around which the ISO power (ISO3744) mesh primitive will be created. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Model at the Center Lets you specify the model or portion of the model around which to create the mesh primitive. The software creates ISO power (ISO3744) mesh primitives around the selected FEM with respect to its center.
Definition Type Specifies the type of ISO 3744 mesh primitive to create:Fine — The software creates a semi-spherical primitive of 2D elements that completely envelops the selected model.Coarse — The software creates a hemisphere primitive of 2D elements on either side of the selected model.Parallelepiped — The software creates a box-shaped primitive of 2D triangular elements that completely envelops the selected model.Note: With a Parallelepiped primitive, the software always creates triangular 2D elements. You cannot change the element type. For more information, see ISO Power (ISO3744) Mesh Primitives..
Refinement Level Available when Definition Type is set to Parallelepiped.Lets you specify a positive integer greater than 1 to controls the level of refinement for the mesh on the parallelepiped mesh primitive. As you increase this number, the software increases the number of measurement points by increasing the number of elements. For example:**Refinement Level of 1 (4 elements per face)****Refinement Level of 2 (16 elements per face)**Refinement Level of 3 (36 elements per face) Refinement Level of 1 (4 elements per face) Refinement Level of 2 (16 elements per face) Refinement Level of 3 (36 elements per face)
Refinement Level of 1 (4 elements per face) Refinement Level of 2 (16 elements per face) Refinement Level of 3 (36 elements per face)
Cutting Plane
Cutting Plane Lets you define a cutting plane in the XY, YZ, or ZX direction to trim the mesh primitive in half. You can define a cutting plane to model only the portion of the mesh primitive that you need for the analysis. For more information, see Trimming mesh primitives with cutting planes.
Reverse Direction Flips the direction of the vector that indicates the direction in which to keep elements.
Destination Collector
Automatic Creation Creates a new mesh collector for the current mesh using the default physical properties.
Mesh Collector Lets you select an existing collector or create a new one. Click New Collector to use the Mesh Collector dialog box to create additional mesh collectors. See Mesh collectors for more information.
Preview
Preview Lets you preview the appearance of the ISO power (ISO3744) mesh primitive elements after you specify the necessary options.
Show Result Lets you preview the ISO power (ISO3744) mesh primitive based on your current selections.Note: For performance purposes, the software limits the number of elements that you can dynamically preview. The final mesh may be different from the mesh that you preview.
