Merge Face dialog box

Type
Type	Lets you specify the method to use to merge faces within the model.Edge BasedLets you merge faces by manually selecting individual edges to remove.Face/Body BasedLets you automatically merge faces based on criteria that you specify.
Selection
Select Object	If Type is set to Edge Based, lets you select specific polygon edges to remove.If Type is set to Face/Body Based, lets you select polygon faces or polygon bodies. The software evaluates whether to merge faces within the selected geometry based upon the criteria you specify.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods	Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters.For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Options
Auto Remove Vertices	When you remove an edge between two faces, removes the associated vertices. The software only removes a vertex if it is shared by two edges. The software then merges those edges. Clear the Auto Remove Vertices check box if you want the software to retain the vertices.
Vertex Angle	Available if Type is set to Face/Body Based and Auto Remove Vertices is selected.Lets you specify the tolerance value for merging faces based on the angle between separate edges. The Vertex Angle is the angle between two separate edges that are joined at a vertex along the boundary of a face, as shown below.For the software to merge two edges, the angle between those edges must be less than or equal to the Vertex Angle value you specify.
Edge Angle	Available if Type is set to Face/Body Based.Lets you specify the tolerance value for merging faces based on the angle between them. The Edge Angle is the angle between two faces joined at an edge, as shown below.For the software to merge two faces, the angle between those faces must be less than or equal to the Edge Angle value you specify.
Preview
Preview	Automatically previews the changes to the polygon geometry based on your current selections.
Show Result	Click Show Result to preview how the software merges the faces.
