Samcef environment
Advanced results filtering for post-processing (Simcenter Samcef)
When you import results, you can use advanced filters to only load some specific results, some specific groups, and/or change the display name of loaded groups.
You can then reduce the amount of Simcenter Samcef results to post-process, even if you already set up a preferred list of Simcenter Samcef results to be computed in the Simcenter Samcef solution Output Requests modeling objects. For more information on these output requests, see Requesting additional results for analyses (Simcenter Samcef) in the Pre/Post documentation.
You define these filters with the help of UGII_SAMCEFPOST_* environment variables in the ..\ugii\ugii_env.dat file. For example, you can use the UGII_SAMCEFPOST_AUTOMATICGROUP variable to filter the groups that you want to load into the Post Processing Navigator.
For more information on the Simcenter Samcef environment variables, see the environment variables page in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation.
Filters
| Filter Name | Description and filter arguments |
|---|---|
| CODE | You use this filter to select or deselect Simcenter Samcef results codes to load. A positive value means a Simcenter Samcef result to load, and a negative value means a result to discard. You can use wildcard characters for the values of the filter.Examples of actions for this filter:UGII_SAMCEFPOST_CODE: 163/191Only reload Simcenter Samcef nodal displacements and rotations.UGII_SAMCEFPOST_CODE: *411Only reload stress tensors of the Simcenter Samcef 411 family: 1411, 3411.UGII_SAMCEFPOST_CODE: -1411Reload all results except the 1411 stress tensor.UGII_SAMCEFPOST_CODE: 163/-1411As 163 is a positive value, only Simcenter Samcef nodal displacements are loaded. All other results are ignored. |

| REFERENCE | You use this filter to only load results for a special time step.Filter values:LASTUse this value to only load the results of the last converged time step of the solution.Example of an action for this filter:UGII_SAMCEFPOST_REFERENCE: LASTOnly load results for the last converged time step. |

| GROUPNAME | You use this filter to rename the display name of Samcef .SEL groups in the Post-processor view.By default, the display name of the groups consists of the following information that is extracted in the Simcenter Samcef problem database:Group ID, [group_name], and the content of the group. For example, a typical display name for a group with an ID of 20 that is named "test-nodes" and that contains 11 nodes is: Group 20 [test_nodes], 11 nodes. You can use the following values of the filter to change the naming rule:NAMEThe Simcenter Samcef group name.NUMBERThe Simcenter Samcef group number.NUMFMTThe sort order. NUMFMT adds leading zeros to provide more accurate sorting than NUMBER.SUMMARYThe Simcenter Samcef group content.Examples of actions for this filter using the same group given above: UGII_SAMCEFPOST_GROUPNAME: NUMBER/NAME/SUMMARYGroup 20 [test_nodes], 11 nodes UGII_SAMCEFPOST_GROUPNAME: NAME/SUMMARY[test_nodes], 11 nodes UGII_SAMCEFPOST_GROUPNAME: NUMFMT/NAME/SUMMARYGroup 0020 [test_nodes], 11 nodes. |
| GROUPTYPE | You use this filter to only load groups containing a certain type of entity.ELEMOnly groups of elements are loaded.NODEOnly groups of nodes are loaded.Example of an action for this filter:UGII_SAMCEFPOST_GROUPTYPE: NODEOnly reload Simcenter Samcef groups of nodes. |
| GROUPSEL****GROUPUNSEL | You use this filter to select / unselect groups to be loaded according to their namesExample of an action for this filter:UGII_SAMCEFPOST_GROUPSEL: cylinder*/shaftOnly the groups whose names start with cylinder or shaft are loaded.UGII_SAMCEFPOST_GROUPUNSEL: cylinder/shaft*All the groups except those whose names start with cylinder or shaft are loaded. |
| AUTOMATICGROUP | You can use this filter to force the Post Processing Navigator to load the Simcenter Samcef groups that are created in the input file when you export your model.0 or FALSEGroups created during the export are not loaded in the Post Processing Navigator.1 or TRUEGroups created during the export are loaded in the Post Processing Navigator. For more information on these groups, see Advanced filtering exported groups for post-processing (Simcenter Samcef). |

|---|---|
| SMG | You can use this filter to force the SAMPAD window to be persistently displayed.0 or FALSEThe window automatically closes after the import of results.1 or TRUEThe window is persistently displayed. You must manually close it.For more information on the SAMPAD window, see Samcef SAMPAD import tool and log file (Simcenter Samcef). |
