Manage report images

Additional images that you add to a report are organized into Images Group within the User Items node. You can rename an Images Group node to describe the images.

You can add the following types of images:

• Snapshots of the software in .tif, .png, .gif, or .jpg formats.

• Stored images in tif, .png, .gif, or .jpg formats.

Note:

• Defaults for image formats and sizes are set in the Customer Defaults dialog box but you can override them.

• A report template can also be automated to take snapshots, including snapshots of an entire session, when the report is published. See your system administrator to determine how your templates are set up.

Take a snapshot

Capture an image of the graphics window or view port that has the focus.

1. (Optional) If an Images Group does not already exist or you want to create a new one, in the Simulation Navigator under the report node, right-click User Items and choose Images Group.

2. Right-click the Images Group node and choose Capture Image.

Insert a saved image

1. (Optional) If an Images Group does not already exist or you want to create a new one, in the Simulation Navigator under the report node, right-click User Items and choose Images Group.

2. Right-click the Images Group node and choose Add Image.

3. In the Display Image File Selection dialog box, navigate to the image you want to add and click OK.

Add a caption

1. In the Simulation Navigator, under Report, right-click an image and choose Edit Caption.

2. In the text editor, enter one line of text as a caption and click OK.

View an image

• To view the image, right-click the Image node and choose View Image.

Rename an image

1. In the Simulation Navigator, under Report, right-click an image and choose Rename.

2. Type a name for the image and press Enter.

Set the size of an image

You can override the default size of images set in the Customer Defaults dialog box

1. In the Simulation Navigator, under Report, right-click an image and choose Format Image.

2. Set the width, height, and rotation of the image or set its width and height relative to its original size as a percentage. To constrain the image to the original aspect ratio, select the Lock Original Aspect Ratio check box.

3. Click OK.

Replace an image

1. In the Simulation Navigator, under Report, right-click an image and choose Change Image.

2. From the Display Image File Selection dialog box, navigate to the image you want to use and click OK.

Copy an image to another image group

1. In the Simulation Navigator, under Report, select an image and press Ctrl.

2. Drag the image to another image group. A small + box appears indicating that you are copying the image. The software appends the original name with a copy number (image(1), image(2)).

Delete an image

• In the Simulation Navigator, under Report, right-click an image and choose Delete Images.
