Using pre-defined favorite settings to create 2D meshes
As Pre/Post continues to enhance its surface meshing technology, the 2D Mesh dialog box becomes increasingly complex. This complexity can make it difficult, for example, for newer users to understand which settings to use. The 2D Mesh dialog box includes pre-defined versions that streamline the mesh definition process for certain workflows.
On the title bar of the 2D Meshdialog box, click Dialog Options and select:
2D-Mesh-Options-BIW-Nastran to use settings that are appropriate for meshing automotive body-in-white panels that you plan to analyze with the NX Nastran or MSC Nastran solver.
2D-Mesh-Options-LSDyna to use settings that are appropriate for meshes that you plan to analyze with the LS-DYNA solver.
Note:
You can modify any of the pre-defined settings or options as needed.
You can also use the Save Favorite and Save Favorite As commands to save your own version or versions of the 2D Mesh dialog box. For more information, see Save a command dialog box layout as a favorite.
