Define an Alexander material

You can create materials only if the Allow Local Materials customer default is selected.

  1. Make the FEM the work part and displayed part.

  2. Choose Home tab→Properties group→Assign Materials or Manage Materials.

  3. In the Material List group, select Local Materials.

  4. In the New Material group, from the Type list, select Alexander.

  5. Click Create Material .

  6. In the materials dialog box, in the Name - Description box, type a name for the material.

  7. On the Mechanical tab, enter the following coefficients for the Alexander law:For C1, enter 0.91 in units of N/mm^2(MPa).For C2, enter 0.08 in units of N/mm^2(MPa).For C3, enter -3.7.For C4, enter 1.66 in units of N/mm^2(MPa).For C5, enter 0.009.For Compressibility Coefficient (BULK), enter 10 in units of N/mm^2(MPa).

  8. Click OK.
