Apply and save layout state files

Note:

You can export layout states as a Simcenter 3D Results Viewer session file (.rsfx). You can use the session file in Pre/Post or Simcenter 3D Results Viewer. For more information, see Importing and exporting session files.

Apply a layout state from a layout state file

When you apply a work layout state, its display is saved in the active work layout state.

  1. Choose Results tab→Layout States group→Apply from File .

  2. In the Apply Layout State from File dialog box, browse to the desired .lsx file and click OK.The Apply Layout State from File dialog box displays the List of Data References table.

  3. Review the data references and resolve any whose status is Unresolved.For more information see, Edit and Apply Layout State dialog box and Edit layout state data references.

  4. Click OK.

Save a layout state to a layout state file

In the Simulation Navigator or Post Processing Navigator:

  1. Right-click a layout state and select Export.

  2. In the Export Layout dialog box, type a path and a layout or session name. You can also click Browse to navigate to and select the file. Select a File Type option to identify the type of file you are exporting.

  3. Click OK.
