Create a primitive
With a FEM file active, choose Insert → Mesh Primitive and select the type of primitive to create.
In the appropriate primitive dialog box, select an element type from the Element Type list.
Select a previously defined Mesh Collector or click New Collector to create a new one.
From the By list, select the method to use to define the size and position of the primitive: Points allows you to specify key points that define the primitive. Construct or select each point using standard methods.Parameters allows you to define the primitive in relation to the X, Y, and Z axes of a coordinate system you define or select, using angular and linear values. Define or select the coordinate system using standard methods, and enter the numeric values for the linear and/or angular parameters on the dialog box.
Depending upon the type of primitive you are creating, use the other options in the Definition group to further define the primitive.
Use the Mesh Density options to control the number of elements created.
(Optional: only appears on the dialog box for some types) Select Top side faces inward to reverse the default orientation of the primitive elements so that their top sides of the associated elements face inward, rather than outward.
