Automatic Thermal Coupling dialog box (ANSYS)

Destination Folder
Simulation Object Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container.
Folder Manager Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Independent Seed Object
Select Object Lets you select a node, point, or mesh point on the independent face.Use the Excluded options to remove individual entities from your selection.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Dependent Seed Object
Select Object Lets you select the matching node, point, or mesh point on the dependent face.Use the Excluded options to remove individual entities from your selection.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Independent Candidate Objects
Select Object Lets you select the independent face or edge along which the software should search for valid independent nodes. Specifying the independent face or edge facilitates the software's search for matching nodes.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from within your selected object.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Reference Coordinate System
Type Specifies the type of coordinate system to use.
Local CSYS Lets you define the node's reference coordinate system. This is the coordinate system in which the software searches for a matching node.Note: If you used the 2D Dependent Mesh command to define a Symmetry type dependent mesh on your model, this coordinate system should be the same as the Displacement CSYS you specified on the 2D Dependent Mesh dialog box.See CSYS dialog box for more information.
Set Displacement CSYS Instructs the software to use the designated reference coordinate system as the nodal displacement coordinate system.
Node Match Tolerance
Value Specifies the tolerance to use to determine whether two nodes in a pair should be considered coincident.
Degrees of Freedom
DOF Controls which of the nodes degrees-of-freedom to couple.Select TEMP to create a coupling for the nodes’ thermal degrees-of-freedom. TEMP is the only valid option if that nodes you are coupling are attached to 3D elements. If the nodes you are coupling are attached to 2D elements, the software uses the temperature at the midsurface of the elements to create the coupling. This option corresponds to the ANSYS CP, LAB=TEMP command.Select ALL to generate a coupling for each active thermal and structural degree-of-freedom.This option corresponds to the ANSYS CP, LAB=ALL command.
Card Name Lists the solver card name.
