Create a cohesive layer

This example shows how to add a cohesive layer between two plies.

Choose Laminates tab→2D group→Global Layup .

Create 2 plies by clicking Create New Ply twice.

Define both plies properties.

From the ply layup list, select both plies that you just created.

Create the cohesive layer by clicking Create New Cohesive Layer .

The cohesive layer is inserted between the two plies.

Note:

The status of the plies is undefined because the draping information is not yet defined.

Define the cohesive layer material.

  • From the Material list, select a listed material or click Select material to choose a Damage Interface material from the material library or create a new Damage Interface material.
