2b. Define the cyclic symmetry.
Select Point on Symmetry Plane and then specify a point at the center of the plane of rotation. You can click Point Dialog to specify the point using the Point dialog box, or select the point creation method from the list and then take the appropriate action in the graphics window.
In the Vector Normal to Plane of Rotation subgroup, select Specify Vector and then click the axis in the displayed triad that represents the axis of rotation (that is, perpendicular to the plane of rotation). You can also click Vector Dialog to specify the vector using the Vector dialog box, or select the vector creation method from the list and then take the appropriate action in the graphics window. To reverse the direction of the vector, click Reverse Direction .
In the Vector Along Edge of Sector subgroup, select Specify Vector and then specify a radial vector perpendicular to the axis of rotation. To specify the vector, you can choose the edge of a representative sector parallel to the plane of rotation. The direction of the radial vector should point away from the axis of rotation.
In the Number of Sectors box, type the number of sections in the circle. If this value is positive, the symmetry is repeated (that is, each sector is similar to every other sector). If it is negative, the symmetry is reflected (that is, every other sector is the mirror image of the previous sector). This value must be between -360 and 360.
Click OK.
