Solution dialog box (Mapping) — Mapping Details
| Info | |
|---|---|
| Description | Lets you type a description of your mapping analysis. |
| Run Job in Foreground | Solves the solution in foreground and freezes this software so that you cannot make changes to your model during the solve.Clear this option to be able to access the software while solving the solution. |
| Data Source and Destination | |
| Source Model Results File | Specifies the path and file name for the BUN source model results file.Type a path and file name or click to browse to the location of the BUN source model results file. |
| Source Model Solution Units | Automatically detects the source model solution units from the BUN file. |
| Source Model Analysis Type | Not available for Axisymmetric Mapping analysis and all Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal analyses.Automatically detects the source model analysis type from the BUN file. |
| Mapped Data Destination Directory | Controls the name and location of the directory where the solver input files containing the mapped data are written.Current Simulation generates solver input files in the same directory as the current simulation. No subdirectory is created.Thermal-Flow Run Directory or Thermal Run Directory generates solver input files in the run directory defined in the source model.Specify generates solver input files in the directory you specify in Destination Directory. |
| Destination Directory | Appears when Mapped Data Destination Directory is set to Specify.Type the path or click to browse to the location of the directory where the solver input files containing the mapped data are written. |
| Data to Map | |
| Appears when Source Model Analysis Type is set to Flow or Coupled. | |
| Fields | Controls which data is mapped.Solid Temperatures specifies the mapping of temperature results on non-fluid elements. Non-fluid elements are elements with thermal material properties.Flow Values specifies the mapping of different flow results on surface elements adjacent to the fluid. |
| Pressure | Appears when Fields is set to Flow Values. You can map either Relative to Ambient pressure values or Absolute pressure values. |
| Transient Times | |
| Select Output Times | Specifies discrete output times. Separate values using commas or put each output time on a new line. |
| Settings | |
| Temperature Extrapolation Type | Appears when Source Model Analysis Type is set to Thermal or Coupled Thermal-Flow.Specifies the temperature extrapolation behavior.Limit to Model RangeLimits the extrapolation to the temperature range of the source model. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the target model are limited by the maximum and minimum temperatures of the source model.Limit to Element RangeLimits the extrapolation to the temperature range of each element of the source model. The maximum and minimum temperatures of a target node or element are limited by the maximum and minimum temperatures of its associated element in the source model.UnlimitedSets no limit to the extrapolation. |
| Relaxation of Extrapolated Temperature Limits, %(Tmax-Tmin) | Appears when Source Model Analysis Type is set to Thermal or Coupled Thermal-Flow.Sets the value, percentage, for relaxing the extrapolation limits for mapped temperatures. The maximum and minimum temperatures of a target node or element are limited by the following bounds:Upper limit = Tmax + percentage ∙ abs(Tmax – Tmin)Lower limit = Tmin – percentage ∙ abs(Tmax – Tmin)where Tmax and Tmin are the temperature bounds of the entire source model or of the associated source element. |
| Temperature Offset | Appears when Source Model Analysis Type is set to Thermal or Coupled Thermal-Flow.Sets the temperature offset to all the mapped temperatures. |
| Pressure Extrapolation Type | Appears when Source Model Analysis Type is set to Flow or Coupled Thermal-Flow.Specifies the pressure extrapolation behavior.Limit to Model RangeLimits the extrapolation to the pressure range of the source model. The maximum and minimum pressures in the target model are limited by the maximum and minimum pressures of the source model.Limit to Element RangeLimits the extrapolation to the pressure range of each element of the source model. The maximum and minimum pressures of a target node or element are limited by the maximum and minimum pressures of its associated element in the source model.UnlimitedSets no limit to the pressure extrapolation. |
| Relaxation of Extrapolated Pressure Limits, %(Pmax-Pmin) | Appears when Source Model Analysis Type is set to Flow or Coupled Thermal-Flow.Sets the value, percentage, for relaxing the extrapolation limits for mapped pressure. This option only applies to the Limit to Model Range pressure extrapolation type. The maximum and minimum pressures of a target node or element are limited by the following bounds:Upper limit = Pmax + percentage ∙ abs(Pmax – Pmin)Lower limit = Pmin – percentage ∙ abs(Pmax – Pmin)where Pmax and Pmin are the pressure bounds of the entire source model. |
| Pressure Offset | Appears when Source Model Analysis Type is set to Flow or Coupled Thermal-Flow.Sets the pressure offset applied to the mapped pressures. For example, if you specify a pressure offset of 2 N/mm2, for every node of the target model a pressure of 2 N/mm2 is added to the mapped pressure value obtained from the mapping and extrapolating process. The software implements the offset in one of the following directions:The pressure's vector direction when pressure is non-zero.The node's normal direction when pressure is zero. |
| Capture Discontinuities | Captures discontinuities at free edges and free faces without using mapping zones. This option is useful for models with non-conformal meshes. |
