Results Extraction dialog box

Scope
Type Specifies from where you want to extract the results. Full Result ModelThe only option available for Simcenter 3D Results Viewer.Lets you extract the results for the entire model.Nodes/ElementsLets you extract the results from selected nodes or elements.Selection RecipesLets you extract the results defined in a selection recipe.
Select Element Select Node Select Object Appears when Type is set to Nodes, Elements, or Selection Recipes.Lets you select the nodes, elements, or selection recipes from the graphics window.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Appears when Type is set to Nodes or Elements.Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters for selecting the nodes or elements. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Labels Appears when Type is set to Nodes or Elements.Sets the element or node IDs to select. You can type IDs one at a time, or as a space-delimited list. After you type the IDs, click to select the specified IDs.
Result Definition
Result Specifies the solution or imported results to use from the list of all loaded solutions and imported results.
Load Case/Iteration/Sub Iteration Appears when there are multiple load cases, modes, iterations, or time steps. Specifies the load case (linear statics solutions), mode (modal solutions), iteration (optimization solution processes), or time step (nonlinear solutions).Select All Iterations to quickly select all iterations for the selected result set.
Result Type Specifies the selected result type. Available results types depend on the selected result set.To quickly select all result types as the selected result set, select All Result Types.
Ply****Layer Appears when the loaded results contain ply or layer results.Specifies the ply or layer for laminate result types.
Component Not available when Result Type is set to All Result Types.Specifies the result component to output. Available components depend on the result type.To quickly select all actual, not derived, result components, select one of the following:For nodal results, select All 3 Components to select the X, Y, and Z components. For element-nodal results, select All 6 Components to select the XX, YY, ZZ, XY, YZ, and ZX components.
Shell Location Appears when the loaded results contain shell elements.Specifies the sections for shell element result types.Select All Shell Locations to quickly select the Top, Bottom, Average, and Bending shell locations.
Beam Location Appears when the loaded results contain beam elements.Specifies the sections for beam element result types.Select All Beam Locations to quickly select the Recovery, C, D, E, and F beam locations.
Complex Appears when the loaded results contain complex results.Choose the complex part or component:RealOutputs the real part of the complex result at nodes. ImaginaryOutputs the imaginary part of the complex result at nodes.AmplitudeOutputs the absolute amplitude of the complex result at nodes.Signed AmplitudeOutputs the signed amplitude of the complex result at nodes. At Phase AngleOutputs the value at nodes of the complex result at a specified phase angle. Enter a phase angle in degrees in the text box.
Coordinate System Specifies the coordinate system used to determine result components. For more information, see Coordinate systems in post-processing.
Units Specifies the units in which to display results.
Result specifications list Lists all the results to output.Displays the following column headings:ID lists the unique ID assigned to the selected results. Right-click results in the table and choose Edit to renumber the ID.Result lists the selected solutions or imported results.Iteration/Load Case lists the load case, subcase, step, iterations, or mode for the selected results.Result Type lists the result type for the selected results.Component lists the result component for the selected results.Units displays the current units for the selected results.
Add Result Specification to the list Adds the selected results to the result specifications list.
Delete Result Specification Removes the selected results from the result specifications list.
Delete All Result Specifications Removes all results from the result specifications list.
Result Combination Opens the Result Combination dialog box to specify how to combine element-nodal results. For more information, see Result Combination dialog box.
Output
Type Specifies the type of output to create. Export to CSV is the only option. It exports the selected results to a comma-separated value (CSV) file.
Number Format Specifies the notational system used for the results. Choose from:AutomaticThe software chooses a numeric format based on the absolute difference between consecutive color bar levels. See Automatic numeric formatting criteria.Fixed PointDisplays results in decimal notation with a fixed number of decimal places you specify.ScientificDisplays results in scientific notation using a fixed number of decimal places you specify.
Decimal Places Appears when Number Format is set to Fixed Point or Scientific.Specifies the number of decimal places for fixed-point numerals and scientific notation. Choose a value from 0 to 9.
Units System
Select the units in which to output the results.
From Result Inherits the units system used in the specified results. Select a results from the list.
User Defined Lists the results units in which the results are imported. Click Change to select new units from the Result Units dialog box.
Result Definition Infers the output results system from the current part or results file.
Error Handling
Incompatible Results Specifies how to treat incompatible data at nodes or elements in any of the selected components or result types.SkipIgnores nodes or elements where the component or result type contain incompatible data. AbortAbandons the operation.
No Data Specifies how to treat selected components or result types when data at nodes or elements is absent or incomplete.SkipIgnores the node or element where component or result type data is missing.Zero-fillOutputs a value of zero for the missing data.
File
The following options are available when type is set to Export to CSV.
Nodes/ElementsLoad Cases/IterationsResult Types Lets you organize the results in rows and columns. You must select at least one item to display in the rows and columns. In RowsDisplays the selected result in a row of the file.In ColumnsDisplays the selected result in a column of the file.
Path Specifies the path and filename for the CSV file.Enter a path and filename in the box, or click Browse to navigate to an appropriate location.
