Torus Primitive dialog box (SST)
Common options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Element Type | Lists the supported 2D element types. |
| Destination Collector | |
| Mesh Collector | Lets you select an existing collector. Click New Collector to use the Mesh Collector dialog box to create additional mesh collectors. See Mesh collectors for more information. |
| Mesh Density | |
| Along Sweep Direction | Defines the number of elements along the circumferential path of sweep for the torus primitive. This path begins at the Start Sweep Angle value and ends at the End Sweep Angle value. The software generates the elements layer-by-layer, beginning at the defined Start Sweep Angle point and ending at the End Sweep Angle point. |
| Along Section | Defines the number of elements along the circumference of the section between the Start Section Angle and End Section Angle of the torus. The value also defines the number of layers in the mesh.Note: This is a surface mesh, and the terminating circular faces are not meshed. |
| Top side faces inward | Select the check box to reverse the direction of the surface normals of the 2D elements so that they point inward. |
Torus primitive defined by parameters
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Definition | |
| Coordinate System | Lets you create or select a coordinate system. The software uses the origin of the coordinate system as the origin of the primitive.See CSYS dialog box for more information. |
| Sweep Radius | Defines the sweep radius as a distance from the origin for the torus.Note: The sweep path always lies on the X-Y plane. |
| Section Radius | Defines the section radius as a distance from the loci of points defined by the Sweep Radius for the torus.Note: The torus section is always perpendicular to the torus sweep path. The section is always circular. |
| Start Sweep Angle / End Sweep Angle | Defines a circumferential segment of the torus sweep path measured from the X-axis in degrees. The segment of the torus sweep path from the Start Sweep Angle to the End Sweep Angle defines the circumferential limits of the primitive. |
| Start Section Angle / End Section Angle | Defines a segment of the torus section measured at the intersection of the torus sweep path and the Y-Z plane. The angles are measured in degrees from the Y-axis. |
| Parameter | Definition |
