Request output on a microphone mesh (FEM acoustics)

This example shows how to request acoustic pressure output on a microphone mesh. Use a similar procedure for the other types of output — acoustic particle velocity, acoustic intensity, and acoustic power.

Note:

An acoustic or vibro-acoustic solution must be the active solution.

  1. Choose Home tab→Properties group→Modeling Objects .

  2. In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, from the Type list, select Acoustic Output Requests, Vibro-Acoustic Output Requests, or Vibro-Acoustic Transfer Vector Response Output Requests.

  3. Click Create.

  4. In the Acoustic Output Requests, Vibro-Acoustic Output Requests, or Vibro-Acoustic Transfer Vector Response Output Requests dialog box, click the Acoustic Pressure page.

  5. Select the Enable PRESSURE Request check box.

  6. Select the appropriate Sorting, Output Medium, Data Format, and other options that further define the output. For more information, see Acoustic Output Requests and Vibro-Acoustic Output Requests dialog boxes (Simcenter Nastran) and Vibro-Acoustic Transfer Vector Response Output Requests dialog box.

  7. In the Entity Selection group, from the Entity list, select how to specify the microphone nodes from which you want the output. To specify the microphone nodes either by group reference or by directly selecting the object, select Group. To select existing group(s):Select the Group Reference  check box. From the Options group table, select the appropriate group.See Create a group by manually selecting the contents for more details. To create new group(s):Select the Group Reference  check box.Click and select the geometry or FE entity to which the parameters are to be applied. To select the object:Click  and select the geometry or FE entity to which the parameters are to be applied.

Add the defined output requests for acoustic pressure to the solution

  1. Right-click the active acoustic or vibro-acoustic solution and choose Edit.

  2. On the Case Control page, from the Output Requests list, select the appropriate output requests.

  3. Click OK to close the Solution dialog box.
