Post-processing > Using query curves to define paths
Create query curves using pre-processing entities
Use the Query Curve Manager to create a query curve using pre-processing entities (polygon geometry or FE entities). For example, to investigate the displacement along an edge of a piston rod using a result probe, create a query curve along the edge. You can output the results of the query curve as a 3D graph.
Make the Simulation or FEM file the displayed and work part.
Choose Menu→Insert→Query Curves.
In the Query Curve Manager dialog box, click New .
Type a name for the query curve.
On the Top Border bar, from the Type Filter list, select the appropriate selection criteria. For example, for creating a query curve along the edge of the piston rod, select Polygon Edge.
In the graphics window, select the entities in the desired order to create the query curve. When you select polygon edges, select near the end of the edge to specify the direction of the query curve. The arrow shows the direction for the query curve.
Click OK.
