Code ID syntax for Simcenter Samcef solver results

Simcenter Samcef results code IDs are four or five digits.

Four-digit codes example

For instance, in a Linear Static analysis, the Stress Tensor result is defined in the Simcenter Samcef documentation with the following codes:

Physical Quantity Volumes Shells (med/up/low) Beams Rods
Stress Tensor x411 x431, x435, x436 - -

In a code ID:

  • The first digit indicates the granularity type.1 for element-nodal support.2 for face-nodal support.3 for element support.4 for face support.7 for the critical ply (composite results only).8 for the critical ply id (composite results only).9 for XY graphs.

  • The second digit indicates the results type.3 for scalar results.4 for tensors.5 for vectors.

For instance, the code 1411 is the element-nodal (1) tensor (4) Stress tensor, and the code 3411 is the element (3) tensor (4) Stress tensor.

Five digits codes

For some shell codes, an extra leading digit defines the lower (or upper) skin origin of the results.

For example, code 13411 is the element stress tensor for the lower skin of shells. The code 23411 is its equivalent for the upper skin, and the code 3411 refers to the midsurface.
