Design Area dialog box
| Modeling Object | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets a unique name for the design area modeling object. |
| Label | Sets a unique integer for the modeling object. This label also appears in the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, and you can filter the objects listed in that dialog box by their label. |
| Properties | |
| Description | Sets a description for the modeling object. You can optionally click Description to open the Description dialog box. This lets you see more of the text that you type, as well as cut, copy, or paste text. This description appears only on this dialog box. |
| Card Name | Displays the name of the Simcenter Nastran bulk data entry associated with this modeling object: DVTREL1. |
| Area Type | Specifies whether the elements in the defined area will be optimized (Optimization Area) or omitted from the optimization process (Frozen Area). |
| Label | Sets the identifier to write to the .dat file when you solve the model. |
| Element Selection Method | Specifies whether the design area includes all of the elements in the entire model (Entire Model) or only specified elements (Specified Elements). |
| Element Selection | Appears when Element Selection Method is set to Specified Elements. Group ReferenceDefines the optimization or frozen area using a group. The group must include elements, meshes, or polygon bodies. You can use the options on this dialog box to find a particular group or filter the displayed list of groups. For more information, see Group Reference options.Filter TypeAppears when the Group Reference check box is selected.Specifies the type of objects from the group to include in the optimization or frozen area. For example, if the selected group includes both a mesh and individual elements, and you select Elements from the Filter Type list, then only the elements in the group are included in the area.Select Elements Available when the Group Reference check box is cleared.Lets you select the elements to include in the optimization or frozen area. This option also indicates the number objects that are selected. For example, if you select a group that contains one mesh and 20 elements, and you select Mesh from the Filter Type list, this displays Select Elements (1). If you select Elements from the Filter Type list, this displays Select Elements (20).Note: If an element exists in both an optimization area and a frozen area, it is considered frozen. |
