Create a mesh mating condition

Automatically create mesh mating conditions

  1. Click Mesh Mating Condition .

  2. Choose Automatic Creation from the creation method list.

  3. Select faces or bodies in your model to limit the face pair search. If you select a face, the software uses the body associated with that face to search for face pairs.Tip: To more easily select faces, under Body Focus, click Select Body and select the polygon body on which the faces exist.

  4. Choose the Mesh Mating Type.

  5. (Optional) To limit the face pair search to coincident faces, choose Identical Pairs Only from the Face Search Option list.

  6. Adjust the Search Distance as necessary for the size and scale of your model.

  7. Click Preview to highlight all face pairs that match the criterion you've set.If the previewed face pairs do not meet your expectations, you may need to adjust the Mesh Mating Type, Face Search Option, or Search Distance. You can also change the Type to Manual and manually select faces to mate.

  8. Click OK or Apply to create the mesh mating condition.

Manually create mesh mating conditions

  1. Click Mesh Mating Condition .

  2. Choose Manual Creation from the creation method list.

  3. Select the source face.Tip: To more easily select a source face, under Body Focus, click Select Body and select the polygon body on which the face exists.

  4. Select the target face.Tip: To more easily select a target face, under Body Focus, click Select Body and select the polygon body on which the face exists.

  5. Choose the Mesh Mating Type.

  6. Depending on the size and scale of your model, you may want to adjust the Search Distance.

  7. Click OK or Apply to create the mesh mating condition.
