Input File dialog box
If you are using this dialog box in Motion, see Processing Motion results for use in a vibro-acoustic response for more information.
| Operation Name | |
|---|---|
| Sets the name of the node for external loading that appears in the Simulation Navigator in Pre/Post or the Motion Navigator in Motion under the Model and Load Pre-processing node. | |
| Data Source | |
| Infers Relative Path | The software infers and stores the path to the file that you specify relative to the Simulation file. If the location of the file changes, the software uses the stored relative path information to try to locate the file. For more information, see Relative path support for external files. |
| Browse | Opens the Select File window where you can filter for applicable file types, navigate to, and select an external results file. |
| File Loading | Appears when the input file is in CGNS format.Lets you specify files associated with the selected result file to be imported.Only selected fileThe software imports only the result file previously selected with Select File. All files in directoryThe software searches the directory of the previously selected result file and imports all result files with file names that match a specific separator. You can choose the separator from the File Name Separator list.**All subsequent files (time step)**The software searches the directory of the previously selected result file and imports all subsequent result files that file names match a specific separator. You can choose the separator from the File Name Separator list. The previously selected file represents the first time step.Note: This option is helpful when you want to specify a range of files starting with a specific file and ending with the last file in the directory. |
| File Name Separator | This option is applicable when File Loading is set to All files in directory or All subsequent files (time step). It lists the separators that are used to search for files associated with the previously selected file. |
| Upgrade Option | Appears when the input file is in Abaqus ODB format and the file was saved using a previous version of Abaqus. The file must be upgraded to the new version of Abaqus. The available options for this upgrade are:Create a copy in the same folderCreates a copy of the existing file in the latest format in the same folder. Create a copy in the temp folderCreates a copy of the existing file in the latest format in the temp folder. Overwrite the fileOverwrites the original file with the latest supported version. Rename the original fileRenames the original file (adds a _original suffix) |
| Expose functions on nodes if less than | Appears when the input file is in HDF5 format. |
| Unit System | |
| LengthMassTemperature | Appears when units are not defined in the input files except for Simcenter Testlab (*.lms) files, which are always in SI units.Lists the units in which the results are imported, and lets you select new units for input files that do not contain units. Note: When the input file contains units, the imported file units override user-defined units. |
| Evaluation Nodes | |
| Appears when the input file is in CGNS format.Lets you change the default names of the nodes to be evaluated. The new names must match the node names in the input file. This is useful for non-standard input files that contain user-defined names for loads, such as electromagnetic forces and so on. The software can access these names and their associated values if they belong to a force, pressure, or velocity field. | |
| Mesh Source | |
| Data Source | Specifies that the software use the same input file defined in the Data Source group as the mesh source. The input file contains load and mesh data. |
| File | Lets you select a different input file than the input file in the Data Source group as the mesh source. The input file must contain a mesh that corresponds to the data in the Data Source input file. |
| Infers Relative Path | Appears when File is set as the mesh source.Lets the software infer and store the path to the file that you specify relative to the Simulation file. If the location of the file changes, the software uses the stored relative path information to try to locate the file. For more information, see Relative path support for external files. |
| Browse | Appears when File is set as the mesh source.Opens the Select File window where you can filter for applicable file types, navigate to, and select an external results file. |
| Data | |
| Provides options for displaying, filtering, selecting, and manipulating data. | |
| Refresh | Populates the data from the selected input file to the fields in the data table, or scans the input file for newly added data and refreshes the fields. Caution: Depending on the amount of data, it can take a significant amount of time to load. Therefore, the software does not automatically load the data upon selection of the input file. |
| Data Sets | Displays the data sets in the Data Source file. |
| Component Names | Appears when the Data Source file contains component names.Displays the component names in the file. |
| Subcases | Appears when the Data Source file contains subcases.Displays the subcases in the file. |
| Order Cuts | Appears when the Data Source file contains order cut data.Displays the order cut data in the file. |
| RPMs | Appears when the Data Source file contains RPMs.Displays the RPMs in the file. |
| Selection only | Lets you choose one quantity to import. All other quantities are excluded from the import. |
| Flip Selection | Lets you control the quantities to be imported. |
| Edit Target Storage Name | Lets you change the default target name. You can track different loads with this name. |
