Sources manager (load case filtering)

The user interface for selecting geometry and FE entities for a calculation is called the sources manager. The sources manager is incorporated into the dialog boxes that you use to:

  • Create calculations

  • Extract loads for calculations

  • Extract physical properties such as length and thickness for calculations

The sources manager is contained in the following locations:

  • The Sources group of the Calculation Creation, Calculation Editor, Calculation Copy Editor, and Property Extractor dialog boxes.

  • The Selection group of the Load Extraction dialog box.

With the sources manager, you can:

  • Access numerous options for selecting geometric and FE entities. For example, the sources manager supports groups and selection recipes.

  • Create multiple sources. For example, you can extract each stress for a calculation from a different source and you can extract the properties that define calculation parameters from other sources.

  • Edit the contents of an existing source. For example, you can add entities to an existing source, or you can replace all entities in an existing source.
