Mesh Control dialog box–Mapped Hole density type options

Selection
Select Targets	Lets you select a hole or connected loop of edges on which to define a Mapped Hole type of density.
Filter	Select the Filter option to have the software search your model for holes that meet the specified Hole Selection Parameters.
Hole Selection Parameters
Minimum Radius/Maximum Radius	Lets you control the size of the holes that the software automatically selects by specifying a minimum and maximum radius. The software ignores any holes whose radius is smaller than the Minimum Radius value and larger than the Maximum Radius value.
Only Free Edges	Searches only for holes that are comprised of free (unconnected) edges.
Allow Non Circular Holes	Searches for both circular and non-circular holes.
Preview Holes	Displays the holes that meet the specified criteria.
Mapped Holes
Layer Depth	Lets you specify the edge length of the elements in the first layer (row). This controls how much the software offsets the first row of elements into the face.
Number of Layers	Lets you specify the number of structured layers of elements to create around the hole.You can specify the number of layers as an integer value, or you can specify the number as an expression. See Expressions for more information.
Adjust Depth	Automatically adjusts the Layer Depth value if the area around the hole is not large enough to accommodate the specified Layer Depth or Number of Layers. When you select this option, the software decreases the specified Layer Depth size so that it can create at least one layer of elements around the hole.
Spacing on Edge
Spacing Type	Controls how you define the spacing of the elements along the edge of the hole.Select None if you do not want to control the spacing of the elements along the edge.Select By Number if you want to specify the total number of elements to create along the edge.Select By Size if you want to specify the size of elements along the edge.
Number of Elements	Available if Spacing Type is set to By Number.Specifies the total number of elements to create along the edge.
Element Size	Available if Spacing Type is set to By Size.Specifies the target element size for the weld row.
Auto Size	Available if Spacing Type is set to By Number or By Size.Click Auto Size if you want the software to estimate an appropriate element length based upon the surrounding geometry.
Preview
Automatic	Automatically updates the mesh when you specify or change a value.
Preview	Previews the distribution of nodes using the parameters you specify.
