Immiscible Fluid Mixture
Use the Immiscible Fluid Mixture modeling object to model an immiscible fluid mixture with a clear interface between the fluids. You specify a tracked fluid material and a complementary fluid material.
Both the tracked fluid and the complementary fluid can be either a gas or a liquid. Gases and liquids are materials for which the Type option is set to Fluid. The flow solver differentiates between a gas and a liquid as follows:
When the gas constant, Rs, is defined, the fluid material is a gas.
When the gas constant, Rs, is not defined, the fluid material is a liquid.
You must define one Immiscible Fluid Mixture modeling object per two-phase, immiscible fluid enclosure. You can define an Immiscible Fluid Mixture modeling object in the 3D mesh collector which contains meshes for both the tracked fluid and complementary fluid regions.
You can also specify a surface tension coefficient between the tracked fluid and the complementary fluid.
When you post process the results, a volume fraction value close to one indicates that the mixture is mostly composed of the tracked fluid whereas a value close to zero indicates that the mixture is mostly composed of the complementary fluid.
