Define a spatial enforced displacement constraint using translational components

  1. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Enforced Displacement Constraint .

  2. In the Enforced Displacement Constraint dialog box, select Translational Components – Field from the Type list.

  3. In the Model Objects group, click Select Object and select the geometry or FE entity to which the enforced displacement constraint will be applied.

  4. In the Direction group, select the coordinate system to use to define the constraint.

  5. In the Degrees of freedom group, select a method from the Specify Field list to apply an enforced displacement constraint that varies spatially. You can use an existing field or create a new field. For more information, see Using fields and expressions to define boundary conditions.

  6. (Optional) Enter Scale Factors for each component.

  7. Click OK.The constraint is applied to the model.
