Load recipe data source file types
Load recipes support the following data source file types:
I-deas results files (*.unv)
Simcenter Testlab project files (*.lms)
Nastran results files (*.op2)
Nastran punch files (*.pch)
Simcenter HDF5 data files (*.sc_h5)
Nastran bulk data files (*.bdf)
Note:
Modal participation factors (MPFs) are supported only from .op2, .pch, and .sc_h5 files. In addition, for a mode set load recipe, each data source can have only one MPF load type, such as only displacement or only velocity.
Nastran .bdf files support only frequency spectra data.
I-deas results files (*.unv)
These results files (also referred to as universal files) contain load, unit system, and analysis data. Universal files support the following dataset types:
Dataset type 58—Data in function format (SORT2)
Dataset type 2414—Data in spatial results format (SORT1)
| Supported data | Load type |
|---|---|
| Load type dataLoad conditionsUnit informationReal or complex dataRPM or order cut valuesActual function and spatial results valuesOrientation used when the data was measured from the node | ForcePressureDisplacementVelocityAcceleration |
Simcenter Testlab project files (*.lms)
These project files contain geometry, function data, mode shapes, and FRF data.
| Supported data | Load type |

| Load type dataLoad conditionsUnit informationReal or complex dataRPM or order cut valuesActual function valuesOrientation used when the data was measured from the node | ForcePressureDisplacementVelocityAcceleration |
Nastran results files (*.op2)
These files contain both input and results data from the Simcenter Nastran or MSC Nastran solver. You can generate loads and subcases based on function data (SORT2) or spatial results data (SORT1) from the OP2 files. These files do not require you to specify the unit system, but if the file has no unit system and you do not specify one, then a warning message appears and the International System of Units (SI) is used by default.

Nastran punch files (*.pch)
These files contain results data from the Simcenter Nastran or MSC Nastran solver. You can generate loads and subcases based on function data (SORT2) or spatial results data (SORT1) from the PCH files. For these files, you must specify the unit system when you create the load recipe.

Simcenter HDF5 data files (*.sc_h5)
These binary files contain results data from a Model and Load Pre-processing (MLPP) solution process.
| Supported data | Load type (FEM load recipes) | Load type (mode set load recipes) |

Nastran bulk data files (*.bdf)
These files contain input data from the Simcenter Nastran or MSC Nastran solver.
