Radiation (Simcenter Samcef)

With the Radiation load, you can apply radiation exchange between a black body at a specified temperature and 2D elements, faces of 3D elements, edges of 2D elements, 1D elements, or surfaces of the nodal capacity elements.

You define the Ambient Temperature (TFR) and the Surface Emissivity (EMI). Both properties can be time and/or temperature dependent, or spatially distributed.

Where do I find it?

To define the radiation, do one of the following:

  • In the Simulation Navigator, right-click Load ContainerNew LoadRadiation.

  • In the Simulation Navigator under a solution, right-click LoadsNew LoadRadiation.

  • Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Radiation .

  • Select geometry. Right-click and choose Create LoadRadiation.
