Annotate nodes or elements by minimum or maximum results
Note:
For Simcenter 3D Multiphysics cyclic symmetric results, you can add an annotation to any displayed sector, and the annotation includes the sector ID. For Simcenter 3D Multiphysics Fourier axisymmetric results, the annotations includes the theta value. For more information about displaying sectors, see Set up a cyclic symmetric display and Set up an axisymmetric 3D display.
Use the Menu→Preferences→Post Processing→Annotate command to set the numeric format of the results values.
Choose Results tab→Tools group→New Annotation .Tip: You can also right-click a post view and choose Create Annotation.
From the Attachment Type list, select Max Result Values or Min Result Values.
Select the entities from which to identify the maximum or minimum nodes or elements:To include the entire model, select the Entire Model check box. To select individual entities, from the Method list, select an option.Select Pick from Model and then select nodes or elements in the graphics window. Use the options in the Pick list to select single or multiple nodes or elements.Select By Node ID or By Element ID, and then type node or element IDs in the text box. Click Apply ID(s) to select the specified nodes or elements. Separate multiple IDs with spaces.By Node ID appears in the list when you are displaying nodal results; By Element ID appears when you are displaying elemental or element-nodal results.Select Node in Groups or Element in Groups. From the Node in group or Element in group list, select a group or selection recipe that contains nodes or elements. Click Apply Group to select the specified nodes or elements.
(Optional) To display the node or element ID of the selected entities in the graphics window, select the Mark IDs check box.
In the Number of Entities box, type the number of nodes or elements for which to display maximum or minimum values. For example, to view annotations for the five nodes or elements with the highest results values, select Max Result Values and type 5 in the Number of Entities box.
(Optional) To update the nodes or elements before calculating the minimum/maximum annotations when the results change, select the Update Min/Max Entities on Result Change check box. When this check box is cleared, the software does not update the nodes or elements before calculating the minimum/maximum annotations and uses the annotations from the previous calculation.
From the Value list, select the values to include in the annotation. For single-node selection recipes, the entity ID also includes the selection recipe name. Select None to create a text-only annotation.
Type any additional text in the User Text box.
To show the units in an annotation that displays results values, select the Display Units check box.Annotations with and without units displayed
To attach the annotation to the selected node or element with a leader line, from the Annotation Type list, select Box with Leader. To create a free-floating annotation, select Box.Annotations with box with leader and only box
Use the remaining options in the Display group to control the appearance of the text and annotation box.
Click OK.
(Optional) For better viewing, drag the annotation to new position.
