Mean Stress Correction dialog box

Name-Description
Name Sets a unique name for the parameter.
Label Sets a unique integer for the parameter. The dialog box automatically displays the next available label number. However, you might want to change this if you use a particular series of numbers to identify certain types of parameters.
Description Sets a description for the parameter. This description appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Description column to the list table. To do that, right-click the column heading row and choose ColumnsConfigure. In the Configure Columns dialog box, select the Description check box and then click OK.
Categorization
Category Sets the category name for this parameter.
Sub-Category Sets the subcategory name for this parameter. The subcategory appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Sub-Category column to the list table.
Properties
Properties Specifies the mean stress correction method to use.For more information, see Mean stress effects, Mean stress correction for normal loads, and Mean stress correction for shear loads.
M Appears when the property is set to NS / Goodman or Torsion / 1 Segment. This value must be between 0.0 and 1.0.
M1 Appears when the property is set to NS / 3 Segments, NS / 4 Segments, or NS / 5 Segments. This value must be between 0.0 and 1.0.
M2 Appears when the property is set to NS / 3 Segments, NS / 4 Segments, NS / 5 Segments, Torsion / 2 Segments, or Torsion / 3 Segments.
M3 Appears when the property is set to NS / 3 Segments, NS / 4 Segments, NS / 5 Segments, Torsion / 2 Segments, or Torsion / 3 Segments. This value must be between 0.0 and 1.0.
Limit R (M3) Appears when the property is set to NS / 4 Segments, NS / 5 Segments, or Torsion / 3 Segments. When the property is set to NS / 4 Segments, limits the correction with slope M3 for 0 < R < 1 to the range 0 < R <Limit R. Beyond this value (for Limit R < R < 1), no more mean stress correction is done. If you do not specify a value, you might have cycles with very small amplitude but high mean stress, which have an equivalent amplitude above the endurance limit. When the property is set to NS / 5 Segments, this value defines the R-value to switch between M3 and M4.
M4 Appears when the property is set to NS / 5 Segments. This value must be between 0.0 and 1.0.
Limit R (M4) Appears when the property is set to NS / 5 Segments.
M5 Appears when the property is set to NS / 5 Segments. This value must be between 0.0 and 1.0.
