Post-processing > Calculating nodal force results > Set up and generate nodal force reports
2. Define the content for the nodal force report.
If you selected only the Grid Point Force check box, do one of the following in the Nodal Force Report Definition group to select the elements to include in the calculation:To include all elements, select the All Elements check box. To select entities, click Select Object and select the entities from the main graphics window. Tip: To help make selections, on the Top Border bar, from the Type Filter list, select the appropriate selection criteria. For example, to create a nodal report for the edge of a piston rod, select Polygon Edge.To select elements in a group, select the Select Groups check box. Select a group from the list or create a new group.
To select the nodes on which the nodal forces are calculated, do one of the following in the Report Nodes group:To include all nodes, select the All Nodes check box. To select entities, click Select Object and select the entities in the main graphics window.Tip: To help make selections, on the Top Border bar, from the Type Filter list, select the appropriate selection criteria. For example, to create a nodal force report for the edge of a piston rod, select Polygon Edge.To select nodes in a group, select the Select Groups check box. Select a group from the list or create a new group. Specifying nodes is optional when you include only grid point force in the calculation. If you do not specify the nodes for grid point force, the software includes all the nodes of all the elements you selected for the nodal force report definition.
From the CSYS list, select the coordinate system in which the software should report the nodal force calculations. For a Cartesian, cylindrical, or spherical coordinate system, click CSYS Dialog to specify a coordinate system.
