Non-Structural Mass dialog box
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies how the non-structural mass is defined.Lumped Mass on Elements: Applies a non-structural mass as a lumped mass to selected 1D or 2D elements.Distributed Mass on Elements: Distributes a non-structural mass across selected 1D or 2D elements.Lumped Mass on Physical Property Tables: Applies a non-structural mass as a lumped mass to all 1D or 2D elements that use the specified physical property table.Distributed Mass on Physical Property Tables: Distributes a non-structural mass across all 1D or 2D elements that use the specified physical property table. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Load Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include the Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Model Objects | |
| Available if you select Lumped Mass on Elements or Distributed Mass on Elements from the Type list. | |
| Target Element Dimension | Lets you specify the type of elements to which to apply the mass.Select 1D to apply the mass to 1D (beam) elements.Select 2D to apply the mass to 2D (shell) elements. |
| Group Reference | Lets you apply the mass to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the polygon faces or elements to which to apply the non-structural mass.Use the Excluded options to remove individual entities from within your selection. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Physical Property Tables | |
| Available if you select Lumped Mass on Physical Property Tables or Distributed Mass on Physical Property Tables from the Type list. | |
| Property Dimension | Lets you specify the type of physical property table to which to apply the mass.Select 1D to apply the mass to a physical property table for 1D (beam) elements.Select 2D to apply the mass to a physical property table for 2D (shell) elements. |
| Property | Lets you select the physical property table for the elements to which to apply the non-structural mass. |
| Magnitude | |
| Method | Appears when Type is set to Magnitude and direction.Total Per Object (NSML): Specifies that the Mass value you specify should be applied to each selected element.Total (NSML1): Specifies that the Mass value you specify should be distributed uniformly across the selected elements. |
| Mass | Sets the mass value. For more information, see Additional magnitude options. |
