Damage Woven Ply Material definition dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)

In the Orthotropic material dialog box, select the Damage page to define the Samcef damage ply material parameters.

If you select Woven Ply Damage (Woven Fabrics), you can enter the materials parameters related to the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.

For more information, see the Samcef material page.

Damage (basic)

Maximum Damage Value (dmax) Lets you specify the fibers maximum damage value. For more information, see the DDEN parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.
Energy Threshold of Fiber Direction 1 (Y11lim+) Energy Threshold of Fiber Direction 1 (Y11lim-) Lets you specify the breaking thresholds in traction (+) and compression (-) respectively for fiber direction. For more information, see the YS11 parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.
Energy Threshold of Fiber Direction 2 (Y22lim+) Energy Threshold of Fiber Direction 2 (Y22lim-) Lets you specify the breaking thresholds in traction and compression respectively for transverse direction. For more information, see the YS22 parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.

Damage law for shear

Limit Value of Energy in Shear (YS12) Lets you specify the limit thermodynamic force. For more information, see the YS12 parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.
Linear Damage Law for Shear****Non-linear Damage Law for Shear Lets you specify the linear or nonlinear characteristic of the damage law for shear.
This option is available when you select the Linear Damage Law for Shear.
Energy Threshold in Shear (Y012) Lets you specify the fiber vs. matrix debonding threshold. For more information, see the Y012 parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.
Critical Value of Energy in Shear (YC12) Lets you specify the critical thermodynamic force. For more information, see the YC12 parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.
This option is available when you select the Non-linear Damage Law for Shear.
Non-linear Function for Damage in Shear (Y12G) Lets you specify the nonlinear law (unitless vs. stress) for the damage behavior in shear. For more information, see the Y12G parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.

Damage variables coupling coefficients

The damage variables can be coupled by specific coefficients.

Coupling Coefficient (alpha1) Lets you specify the alpha1 coupling coefficient.
Coupling Coefficient (alpha2) Lets you specify the alpha2 coupling coefficient.

Note:

If you specify a non-zero value for alpha2, you must specify a value for alpha1.

For more information, see the DCOU parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.

Time delay effect law

Time for Delay (TAU) Parameter for Delay (ADEL) Lets you define the two parameters that drive the time delay effect law. If TAU is zero, there is no time delay effect. For more information, see the TAU and ADEL parameters of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.

Nonlinearities in traction and compression.

Nonlinear Options for Fiber Direction Lets you specify if the nonlinearity in the fiber direction depends on the Constant Coefficient or on Function.
These options are available when you select the Constant for the Nonlinear Options for Fiber Direction list.
Non-linear Coefficient for Fiber Direction (Ksi+) Non-linear Coefficient for Fiber Direction (Ksi-) Lets you define the nonlinearity coefficients in traction (+) and compression (-) respectively. For more information, see the YNLE parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.
These options are available when you select the Function for the Nonlinear Options for Fiber Direction list.
Non-linear Function for Fiber Direction (Ksi+) Non-linear Function for Fiber Direction (Ksi-) Lets you specify the nonlinear functions in traction (+) and compression (-) respectively. For more information, see the FONC parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.

Coupling with plasticity

Initial Plastic Threshold (LITK) Lets you define the initial plasticity threshold. For more information, see the LITK parameter of the Samcef Woven Damage Ply material.
