Executing structure maps

Use the Autogenerate New Assembly FEM command to execute structure maps in Pre/Post. Structure maps automate the creation of a CAE structure from an existing CAD assembly. You define the structure map in the CAE Manager application of Teamcenter. Typically, the structure map generates an assembly FEM with a structure that is similar to, but not the same as, the CAD assembly's structure. For example, you can define the structure map to automatically filter out connectors such as bolts or pins, which will not be considered in the analysis. You can also select a data map to generate the assembly FEM. The data map generates a CAE structure that is identical to the product structure.

Log file

When you execute structure maps in Pre/Post, the Information window displays a summary log. The Teamcenter option CAE_persist_StructureMapLog defines the dataset to which the summary log is attached in Teamcenter.
