Add a new FEM component from an FRF set to an assembly FEM

  1. Open or create an assembly FEM.Set the Solver to Nastran, and the Analysis Type to Structural or Vibro-Acoustic.

  2. On the ribbon bar, on the Acoustics and Vibration tab, select FRF Set.If the Acoustics and Vibration tab is not visible, right-click on a blank area of the ribbon bar and select the Acoustics and Vibration .

  3. In the Frequency Response Function Set dialog box, in the Data Source Group, select the FRF set. Browse to the file or directory as needed. .

  4. In the Frequency Response Function Set dialog box select the FRFs to include in the FRF set.

  5. In the Frequency Response Function Set dialog box, in the Mesh group, select the display type. Associated Elements — Elements with mode set or FRF set data are displayed as an approximation of the original mesh. If the mode set or FRF set contains PLOTEL elements, these elements will be displayed.Visualization Elements — Displays the nodes of the model and any PLOTEL elements. For more information, see Displaying alternate FEM representations.

  6. Click OK.

  7. The FRF set appears in the Simulation Navigator.

  8. Expand the FRF Set node.

  9. Right-click the FRF set you just added and choose Add as Component. The FRF set will be added to the assembly FEM as a component and the FRF set will be displayed in the Graphics window. Note: The FRF set component FEM will be placed at the model origin and no component FEM rotation will be applied. You can move or orient the FRF set using Move Component command.
